HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PLUTO!

Pluto was discovered on this date in 1930. As many of you know, even though this icy little guy has been demoted to dwarf planet status by astronomers, in my work as an astrololger I still value his exceptional planentary influence. Learn more about Pluto here.

Kyson Stowell was found in a field about 100 yards from where his house had been, after a severe storm which killed Tyson’s mother went through Castalian Springs, Tennesee one year ago.
His grandmother, Kay Stowell, says, “"God just saw fit for Kyson to be in our lives.”
Kyson will celebrate his second birthday on February 16th. From examining Kyson’s birthchart I can assure Kay Stowell that her analysis is correct. Kyson’s chart contains the yod formation, often referred to as “the finger of God”. Saturn, the focal planet in Kyson’s yod, is inconjunct (150 degrees) away from both Venus and Mars, which are in sextile to one another.
His chart has the bucket pattern, with all but one planet clustered together in one section opposed by the remaining planet, called the “handle” of the bucket. That handle of the bucket in Kyson’s chart is Saturn, the most important planet in his chart since much of his life’s experience will be focused on it. Interestingly, Pluto, the planet which is said to represent older women, trines that solitary Saturn, a distinct portrait of his being cared for by his grandmother.
Also, I was not surprised to see that Kyson was born during the Balsamic phase of the Moon. Those born during the Moon’s Balsamic phase are destined to say goodbye to many loved ones during their lifetime.

Uh oh! Better not put the flannel sheets and the down comforter away yet. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning. Winter is going to stick around for another six weeks.
PREDICTIONS AND MORE
POSTED BY BEVERLEE, Sunday, February 1st, 2009
I’m frankly embarassed to confess that here in southern California we’re enjoying warm sunlit days wth temperatures in the 80's while those on the East Coast are suffering from such cruel weather, many without power. I must presume they are therefore anxiously awaiting the prediction, tomorrow, of “Punxsutawney Phil”, the groundhog who every year on February 2nd comes out of his hole after a long winter sleep to look for his shadow. If he sees it, he predicts six more weeks of winter and returns to his hole. Learn more about the history of Groundhog Day here.
Speaking of predictions, the other day I happened to notice an ad to Amazon, for the book, “The Mystery of 2012”. I’d of course heard about the seemingly dire significence of the Solstice of December 21st, 2012 before, but without paying much attention to it. So I checked out the book and, finding its contents fascinating, decided to buy it. It’s comprised of a compilation of essays by leading authorities concerning these questions: What will happen in 2012? Are we coming to the end of a cosmic cycle? Will there be an age of awakening, or even an end to the world as we know it? Will there be a reversal of the geomagnetic poles? The in-depth discussion encompasses the prophecies of the Mayan astonomers to modern predictions about social, ecological and spiritual changes to our world.
As the blurb on the back cover says: “Whether you’re a skeptic, a true believer, or simply “2012-curious” (count me among the latter) here is a thought-provoking exploration of this approaching landmark in human history.”
I highly recommend this book. You can check it out and order it here. I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of the contributors is Meg Blackburn Losey, the daughter of my high school classmate, Bill Blackburn. Meg is a channeler. You can learn more about her here.
