VENUS GOES DIRECT TODAY—HOORAY!
POSTED BY BEVERLEE, Thursday, November 18, 2010
I awakened this morning with a vibrant feeling of renewal, as though a fog had lifted and the broad light of day had once again returned. With Taurus rising in my natal chart and Libra my Sun sign, Venus rules my chart and, frankly, my heart, so I like to see it moving forward rather than dawdling in reverse. To compound its effect upon me, my Prenatal Eclipse (the last Solar Eclipse before my birth) fell exactly on my natal Venus at 8 degrees of Virgo.
To tell the truth, ever since Venus went into retrograde on October 20th, I’ve been in a funk! I daresay its backward movement crossing over and conjoining my natal Mercury in Scorpio affecting my thinking and my value system has been a contributing factor to the gloom.
I am not the only one having been negatively affected by Venus’s retrograde, of course. Every Libran and Taurus I know has been plagued in one way or another during this transit. I've had reports of hip transplants, bouts of flu, as well as various and sundry other ailments and money-related adversities experienced by my Venus-ruled friends and clients during the retrograde period.
I must confess I was therefore a bit dismayed to note that Prince William chose to propose to Kate Middleton, his longtime love, during this particular planetary period, with the announcement of their engagement coming two days before the stationary direct date. Then I realized that very often the most critical and news-worthy times of any retrograde period happen right at the cusp of the planet turning either stationary retrograde or stationary direct.
For instance, to cite an tragic example, a great many airplane disasters occur right at those times—including the ill-fated flight of John F. Kennedy, Jr., which occurred within four days of Mercury turning direct. Venus played a role in that tragedy, as well, as it was preparing to turn retrograde right on John’s natal Pluto.
But returning to Prince William’s engagement, I was interested to observe that the announcement came just as the Sun was opposing his natal Venus in the sign of Taurus while transiting Venus was stationary on both his and Kate’s
natal Pluto. (NB: Having been born in the same year—1982, they of course have many of the outer planets in the same sign and close to the same degree. They both have Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in the same sign and close to the same degree.).
So, Venus’s retrograde conjoining their respective Pluto’s (the planet of transformation) does ultimately make sense and again, appears to point to their mutual destiny. Also, at the time of the engagement announcement, transiting Mercury in Sagittarius was opposing William’s natal Mercury in Gemini—the Full Moon phase of his annual Mercury cycle, so to speak. Things come out into the light during Full Moon Phases—whether of the Moon, or any planet.
Looking at William’s progressed chart we find that the Sun, Moon and Mercury have moved into his 7th house of marriage, and progressed Venus is almost exactly conjoining his natal Sun in Cancer. Transiting Mars on the day of the announcement was conjunct his progressed Midheaven (representing his public image, and destiny!) in the 11th house of hopes and wishes, across the 5th/11th axis of love given and received. As you see, each layer of astrological lore adds a new dimension and deeper confirmation to that which is occurring in one’s life.
Yes! The ancient oft-quoted maxim “As above, so below.” is alive and well.
PRINCE WILLIAM IS ENGAGED—FINALLY!
POSTED BY BEVERLEE, Tuesday, November 16, 2010
I was interested to read this morning of Prince William’s engagement. So much about the engagement and upcoming marriage of William and bride-to-be Kate Middleton is in perfect alignment with their stars. For instance, as the article mentions, William once said he would probably not marry before he was 28 or 30. He turned 28 last June, and so is in the beginning stages of his Saturn Return…as is his 28-year-old fiancee. We finally grow up at our first Saturn Return and make important decisions about the direction of our lives. Further, the last Solar Eclipse on July 11th fell in William's 7th house of marriage within 3 degrees of Kate's Moon, and the next Solar Eclipse on January 4th, 2011, at 13 degrees of Capricorn will conjoin William’s Ascendant; also at that time his Saturn Return will be within a degree of exact. Solar Eclipses across the axis of on one’s Ascendant/Descendant and Saturn Returns are both strong astrological markers for life-changing events. The January Eclipse falls with 5 degrees of Kate Middleton’s Capricorn Sun and within one degree of opposing her Moon in Cancer.
Kate's Sun, incidentally, at 16 degrees of Capricorn, falls very close to William’s Ascendant, and her Cancer Moon exactly conjoins his North Node (Where one is headed in life!) and the cusp of his 7th house of marriage.
Interestingly, just the other day I was telling a friend that Capricorns and Cancers often marry. You know the old adage--opposites attract? Well, yes, and then the fun (and fighting!) begins. For it’s certainly no secret that these two lovers have had an on-again off-again relationship for years.
As a devoted Anglophile I'm delighted to know they've finally decided to make it official by tying the nuptial knot, and right on schedule with their stars, too.
